Ashbrook High School has been selected as one of 10 Innovation Schools in Gaston County for the 2025-26 academic year. Innovation Schools focus on using clear strategies and strong purpose to boost student success. Students receive extra instructional support, and teachers take on advanced roles to help students achieve their best.

Ashbrook High School reignited its theater arts program with two exciting productions: Puffs in the fall and SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical in the spring.
Actor Jahlani Young was nominated for Best Actor for his role as Patrick Star, and Andrea Velazquez, was nominated for Best Actress for her role as SpongeBob. Both nominations were from the Blumey Awards.

The iAccelerate Academy at Ashbrook High School is an outstanding college prep program that allows students to be dually enrolled at Gaston College, explore areas of interest, and complete coursework in a flexible, blended format.

During the 2024-2025 school year, the Ashbrook High School marching band earned multiple awards, including top honors in percussion, visual performance, and overall effect.

In 2024, Ashbrook High School was honored as a National Unified Champion School by Special Olympics. During the 2024-2025 school year, the Unified Club celebrated its annual kickball game, an event that highlights the abilities and inclusion of all students, regardless of their abilities.

Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually. This allows us to provide care for students without them having to leave school to go to the doctor.

Parents, it’s time to start planning for your student’s senior year. Important information about senior pictures, graduation, cap and gown orders, and senior events is now available.
The Board of Education will meet on Monday, December 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the Gaston County Schools Central Office, 943 Osceola Street, Gastonia. The public is invited to attend.
The holiday break begins on Monday, December 22. Students return to class on Tuesday, January 6. The Gaston County Schools central office will be closed December 23-25, and January 1. We would like to wish you and your family a joyous holiday season and a Happy New Year.
The Gaston Regional Science and Engineering Fair is coming up for high school students. The high school division will be held January 8-9 from 9 a.m. to noon, with awards beginning at 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at the Belmont Parks and Recreation Department at 1315 East Catawba Street in Belmont. This annual fair gives students the chance to showcase their projects, explore new ideas, and celebrate the importance of science, technology, engineering and math.
